You should be sure to discuss a skincare routine with your dermatologist. You should be washing your face with a gentle cleanser and making sure to moisturize. Your dermatologist can also help by recommending other treatments that can help target acne and diminish it completely.

There are different prescription medications that your dermatologist might recommend. These medications work by reducing the amount of oil that is produced or treating any bacterial infections you may be dealing with. You might have to try multiple types at the same time to get the best results.

Topical medications could be retinoids, antibiotics, or salicylic acid. These each work differently and work to target specific issues that may be happening on your skin. Oral contraceptives can help women with acne if their acne is caused by hormones.

Your dermatologist may also recommend things like light therapy, chemical peels, extractions, or steroid injections.

The wait wasn’t too long and there were so many beautiful and interesting things to look at while I was there: beautiful art well presented with identification and background details, fascinating terrariums and other plants, and even an Asian meditation garden.
