What causes acne? 
Acne can occur for several reasons: excess production of oil, increased hormones, bacteria, or clogged hair follicles. Acne normally forms on the face, neck, chest, and back. When a gland produces too much oil, it causes the follicle to become clogged, trapping dead skin cells and causing the follicle to bulge out, forming a white head. If the clog is opened to the air, it turns brown, forming a blackhead. Pimples are clogged pores infected with bacteria or irritated.

Can I prevent acne? 
Preventing acne can be a challenge for many people and often requires the help of your dermatologist. At home, a proper skincare routine consisting of cleansing the face of dirt and oil, using products containing chemicals like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, and moisturizing twice a day is often enough to keep pimples at bay. However, some stubborn breakouts or certain kinds of acne require the help of your dermatologist.

The wait wasn’t too long and there were so many beautiful and interesting things to look at while I was there: beautiful art well presented with identification and background details, fascinating terrariums and other plants, and even an Asian meditation garden.
