Wart Treatment at Dermatology Associates of Ithaca
Warts are common skin growths caused by viral infection of the skin. While many warts are harmless, they can be uncomfortable, spread to other areas, or cause cosmetic concerns. At Dermatology Associates of Ithaca, our board-certified dermatology providers offer effective wart evaluation and treatment options tailored to each patient’s needs.
Whether a wart is new, persistent, painful, or spreading, our team provides thoughtful care in a comfortable, supportive environment.
What to Expect During a Wart Evaluation
A wart evaluation helps determine the type of wart and the most appropriate treatment approach.
During your visit, your provider will:
- Examine the wart and surrounding skin
- Determine the type and location of the wart
- Ask about symptoms such as pain or bleeding
- Review prior treatments, if any
- Recommend treatment options based on the wart’s characteristics
In most cases, diagnosis is made by visual examination. Additional testing is rarely needed.
